Creator license

When you upload a song to SONARA you accept this license. It lets us play your song on the platform, on the home page, at live shows and on social media. It does not take your rights away: you can keep using your song wherever you like.

01Who it is between

  • You, the adult (18+) uploading the song (the “creator”).
  • NAYSOF IBÉRICA, S.L., Tax ID B93682623, registered office at Paseo de Reding 43, 1º Izda, 29016 Málaga (España), owner of SONARA (“NAYSOF”).

The license is needed even if the creator works for or is a partner of NAYSOF, because the company is a separate legal person.

02What you grant us

You grant us a non-exclusive, free and worldwide license (SONARA can be heard from any country) over the rights you hold in the song: copyright in the music and lyrics and related rights, including those of the producer of the recording. With it, NAYSOF may:

  1. 1Make technical copies: store the original, convert it to streaming formats, generate the waveform and make backups.
  2. 2Stream it on SONARA: make it available to the public on the SONARA website and apps to be played, voted on and scored.
  3. 3Home page: play it automatically as background music on the home page if it wins and is verified.
  4. 4Live shows and events: play it at live shows, auditions and live events, broadcast them and offer the recording afterwards.
  5. 5Clips and social media: take excerpts and clips (for example, the chorus) and publish them on social media and other websites to promote SONARA and your song, crediting your artist name.
  6. 6Song details: show your artist name, profile picture, title, cover art and lyrics alongside it.
  7. 7Technical adjustments: normalise the volume, trim it for clips or for blind listening and add the “Made with AI” label, without changing its meaning.

03What it does not include

  • Training artificial intelligence on your song, lyrics or data, or handing the song to third parties for that purpose.
  • Selling it, distributing it in third-party stores or streaming platforms, or using it in advertising for other brands.
  • Any use other than those described in this license.

It is non-exclusive because the song remains yours to use wherever you like, and because some tools (such as ElevenLabs or Mureka) keep their own license over what they generate.

04How long it lasts

  • While the song is on SONARA. If you delete it, we will stop playing it and stop creating new clips with it within a reasonable time.
  • Clips and live show recordings already published may remain available.
  • Even if you delete the song, we will keep the original file, your declarations, the proof and the audio fingerprint for as long as the law requires or as needed to defend ourselves against a claim. If the song was removed for infringing rights, we will keep its fingerprint to stop it being uploaded again.

05No payment

This license is free: no payment is due for each use, without prejudice to any remuneration rights the law makes non-waivable. Contest prizes are governed by their own rules.

06What you warrant

By accepting this license you declare and warrant that:

  • You are 18 or older.
  • The song was generated with the tool and paid plan you declare, active when you generated and downloaded it, and those terms allow you to publish it and grant us this license.
  • The file you upload is the original you downloaded from the tool.
  • The song does not contain the voice, name or image of any real person without their consent, nor other people's lyrics, melodies or recordings.
  • Your prompt did not use artists' names, song titles, lyrics or audio belonging to third parties.
  • If you wrote the lyrics, they are original. If you are a member of a collecting society or have a contract with a label or distributor, you have declared it.
  • All the information and proof you give us is true.

07If any of the above is not true

  • If a third party makes a claim against NAYSOF because one of your warranties was not true, you will cover the resulting damages, penalties and reasonable defence costs (including lawyers), to the extent they are caused by your breach and within the limits of the law.
  • NAYSOF will tell you about the claim without undue delay and you may take part in the defence.
  • The penalties set out in the Terms and conditions will also apply.

08What NAYSOF does

  • Show your artist name next to the song, along with the “Made with AI” label and the tool used.
  • Use the song only for what this license allows.
  • Not train AI on it.
  • Stop showing it if you delete it. If there is an open report or appeal, we will keep it hidden until it is resolved.

09Versions of this license and governing law

  • This license has a version number. Each song is linked to the version you accepted when uploading it, with the date and time stored.
  • If we change it, the new version will apply to songs you upload from then on. For songs already uploaded we will ask you to accept it; if you don't, they will stay under the previous version.
  • Spanish law applies. If you are a consumer, you can bring a claim before the courts where you live.
